Caians in Take it to the Bridge final

Two ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ College students are competing in Take it to the Bridge, a ‘battle of the bands’ competition run by the University of Cambridge’s Centre for Music Performance. The prize? A set at this summer’s where Lionel Richie and Grace Jones will be headlining.

Fin Waugh (Music 2021) and Gabriel Arpino (Engineering PhD) are competing in their jazz quartet, TEMOR, after advancing from the earlier heats. The final takes place on Sunday 23 April at 7pm in the Hidden Rooms, Jesus Lane, Cambridge. .

Gabriel and Fin are joined in their band by Wynn Tasker (Lucy Cavendish) on drums and Judah Daniels (Clare) on keys.

Earlier rounds of the competition involved 15 student bands made up of over 60 students. The final will see four outstanding bands made up of 18 musicians from nine colleges competing. Cheap Date, Colonel Spanky’s Love Ensemble and The Daniel Daley Sextet are also performing, with the winners decided by an audience vote in conjunction with the judges’ decision.
