Stefanie Stantcheva (Economics 2004) has been awarded the John Bates Clark Medal by the .
The prize is awarded annually to an American economist under the age of 40 who is judged to have made the most significant contribution to economic thought and knowledge.
Stefanie graduated in 2007 with the top first in the Economics Tripos also gaining the Gladstone Memorial Prize for Best Undergraduate Dissertation, the Adam Smith Prize for Best Undergraduate Dissertation in Economics and the Adam Smith Prize for Best Undergraduate Student in Economics.
Now , Stefanie was received the John Bates Clark Medal for her contributions to the field of public economics. Her work on government taxation and private behaviour is paramount in providing a foundational understanding of tax systems, as well as informing policy debates.
