Back pages: the Archive
Members of the College have had a long history of engaging in a wide selection of sporting endeavours – from cricket to netball, football to frisbee, archery to rifle shooting – and some of them have gone on to international honours. The gallery below showcases some of our great sporting gems from the College Archive, followed by a table of our twenty-one Olympians to date.
These Olympians have participated in a wide variety of sports, including rowing (not a great surprise), ice hockey (more surprisingly), sailing, athletics, fencing, and hockey. The images below include indubitably our most celebrated Olympian, Harold Abrahams, whose 100m gold medal win in the 1924 Paris Olympics inspired this exhibition.
