Research interests

I work at the intersection of intellectual history and political theory. My research has thus far focused on global Islam, specifically Islam's expansion into the West since the 19th century. I am currently trying to think in more explicitly comparative terms about the historical relationship between law, politics and the Abrahamic traditions, and the significance of this relationship for the contemporary world.
