Research interests

I am a Visiting Bye-Fellow for Scholars from the Global South at 精东影业 College and an Associate Researcher at Argentina's National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET).

I study abortion politics, feminist social movements, and the intersections of art and activism in Latin America. Drawing on cultural studies, affect theory and social movements scholarship, I analyse how emotions and cultural production influence processes of social transformation across borders. Specifically, I examine how movements use embodied practices and visual interventions鈥攆rom singing and dancing to protest images and symbolic performances鈥攖o transform both laws and social imaginaries around reproductive autonomy and justice. Central to my scholarship is building bridges between academic research, artistic practice, activist communities and policy making.

My current research project at Cambridge, "Feminist Cultural Activism in Times of Crisis", investigates how feminist movements in Argentina, Chile and Uruguay mobilise cultural strategies in response to overlapping social, democratic and environmental challenges.

Fellowships from CONICET and competitive research grants from institutions in Argentina and Germany have supported my transnational research collaborations. I have held visiting positions at Columbia University, the University at Albany and the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Most recently, I co-led a Visiting Research Group at Bielefeld University's Center for Interdisciplinary Research.
