Bumps disappointment for Caius

A May Bumps taking place on the 25th anniversary of Double Headship began with optimism of a repeat for Caius Boat Club, but also an awareness of the scale of the challenge.
Both W1 and M1 finished Bumps in third place, but CBC maintained the highest combined standing across the colleges. That joint achievement reflects the “one-club” mentality: the men’s and women’s squads training, racing and celebrating together.
W1 slipped from Head of the River to third, as Jesus and an impressive Trinity Hall overtook them. Jesus caught Caius on day two, rowing on to Headship, and Trinity Hall bumped Caius on day three.
M1 maintained third place, catching Magdalene on day one and rowing over twice before a charging Peterhouse overtook them. Peterhouse climbed from 10th to second, behind Lady Margaret (St John’s College).

Caius had six crews – three women’s and three men’s – in May Bumps.
W2 fell out of Division Two, falling from 13th to top of Division Three. W3 had a similar slip, from 10th in Division Three to 16th.
M2 began Bumps at the top of Division Two, but completed it in fourth, while M3 received spoons, falling from 16 in Division Three to third in Division Four.
Look out for Captain’s Word on the Caius Boat Club website and social media channels.
There is Caius representation at Henley Royal Regatta this week.
W1 (in a composite with Emmanuel) and M1 (in a composite with Robinson) raced the Henley Royal Regatta Qualifiers last Friday. M1 qualified for the Temple Challenge Cup, a success unseen since 2019. M1 are racing on Wednesday (and hopefully beyond).
